Realizing and accepting that my daughter needed speech therapy was more difficult than I would have anticipated. When we started seeing Melissa my concern was quickly countered with her encouragement and affirmation. I didn’t know what to expect but assumed teaching my 15-month-old to speak, when she hadn’t even attempted sounds before, would be challenging and require much patience. I was blown away when after literally one session my daughter said the words “bubble” and “fish”. Her vocabulary has grown steadily with each session with Melissa and when we leave we are given homework so we can make progress at home as well. Seeing the growth in our baby has brought such joy to my husband and I and the excitement has spread to my extended family as well. We are all so grateful for the gift this therapy has been and Thank God for Melissa.

I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with you on recent IEP evaluations for Bridgewater-Raritan school district. Thank you for taking the time to truly tease out many complex weaknesses presented by the child. You demonstrated knowledge of the needs of the child, as well as the additional areas that required further assessment.

The comprehensive Speech and Language Evaluation submitted to the school district provided essential information related to the eligibility and classification of the student. As a result of the Speech and Language and other IEE’s, the student will receive the special education and related services needed.

My children and I have worked with many speech therapists over the past several years, but Melissa is truly one of the best. Her kind and gentle personality allows even the most timid clients to quickly warm up to her. Her love and passion for what she does is evident. She genuinely cares for each client and desires them to reach their fullest potential. In addition, Melissa is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough in her evaluations, and in her action plan to help each child overcome their deficits.

I’m just going to brag on my dear friend Melissa Carrero. She is a phenomenal Speech pathologist!! That is completely a non bias opinon too! She has taken our sweet Izzy from speaking only vowels in his words and sentences to words and sentences we can not believe he’s saying now. Izzy has childhood apraxia of speech. Melissa has worked endlessly with him to teach him how the motor skills of his mouth, tongue and throat should work together to make sounds, words, and sentences. With all that hard work Izzy has also gained confidence in himself to look people in the eye and to not quit when he’s trying to communicate to others.
